PRODUCT, IDEA & INNOVATION SHOWCASE 2022 (PIIS 1.0)
‘PIIS 1.0’ aims to provide students with opportunities where it involves students from Universiti Teknologi MARA to showcase potential innovation ideas for commercialization. The program is conceptualized through exhibitions and presentation of projects via a ‘showcase’ by group of students. This competition is open to undergraduate students of UiTM.
Malaysian Academy of SME & Entrepreneurship Development (MASMED), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) as an entrepreneurial entity in UiTM is the main organizer of this program aims to expose students to entrepreneurial aspects and to support the idea of business innovation of potential students to be commercialized.
The innovation projects based on theme SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDG) 2030 with five (5) categories namely Lifestyle, Social Benefits, Industry, Information Technology and Health, Safety & Environment. The evaluation of the project covers several elements such as the product innovation video, poster, prototype/model and pitching of idea for commercialization potential.
Hopefully with the participation of students’ innovation projects through this ‘showcase’ will give more exposure to students in promoting talent and commercializing the product to a higher level.
Programme Description
MASMED KPK would like to inform students of the College of Engineering Studies, that Product, Idea & Innovation Showcase 2022 (PIIS 2022 ) competition will be held for the semester of March – August 2022, which involves the competition at the College level. Students taking ENT600 subject (Technology Entrepreneurship) are compulsory to participate. The competition theme is based on the World Sustainable Development goal 2030 (SDG). Each team will be judged for the commercialization values of the product, best-proposed solution, creativity, and dedication. It will be conducted thru pitching and virtual presentation. The finalist at the College of Engineering Studies level will be competing at the cluster level among science faculty under Tech-Create 5.0 organized by the Malaysian Academy of SME Development and Entrepreneurship (MASMED) UiTM. The judging session for the college level will be held in week 10 whereas week 12 for the cluster level. Thus, let’s work together to ensure the success of PIIS 2022 which involves ENT600 assessment that represents CLO2: Demonstrate Managerial and Entrepreneurial Skills in Identifying Technology-Based Business Opportunities and indirectly this program helps achieve KPI KPT & UiTM through KPI ‘The Number of Students Involved in IPT’s Innovation and Technology-Based Programs
